Nutritional therapist Kate Swaine (DipION FdSc mBANT)
Kate studied nutritional therapy for 3 years at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London and obtained their diploma and foundation degree in 2007. Following that she practised in London for 2 years before moving to Scotland where she has been working as a nutritional therapist in Edinburgh and the Western Isles. She enjoys working with a wide range of health problems and her special areas of interest are digestive health, energy problems, hormonal imbalances and infertility. Kate has also run weight loss groups, using a combination of motivational coaching and nutritional advice to help her clients lose weight.
Kate believes it’s really important that every client comes away from a consultation with a tailor-made dietary plan that may not only improve their health, but is also achievable, practical and tasty! She explains what she believes could be the link between your diet and the underlying causes of your symptoms and provides recipes and/or menu plans.
Sometimes Kate may also recommend functional testing such as hair mineral analysis, intolerance testing, stool analysis or stress hormone level tests. These can be useful in certain cases to help restore you to good health as quickly as possible.
Kate also advises on supplements. She firmly believes that no supplement can replace a good diet, but that the appropriate supplements, in the correct doses can make a vast therapeutic difference.
