Acupuncture is an energy medicine that has been practised in China and the Far East for thousands of years. By diagnosing areas of deficient, excess or stagnant energy (Qi), tiny sterile needles can be used to stimulate and encourage a restorative flow of energy into the required parts of your body.
Acupuncture can be used to heal or reduce a wide variety of physical and emotional symptoms, and also just to gain a greater sense of overall wellbeing. Tom's gentle approach has allowed many apprehensive about treatment to feel calm and easy, and almost without exception patients leave feeling relaxed, restored and enjoying a greater sense of wellbeing.
His approach is ideally suited to a general practice and he enjoys the variety of challenges this brings, enabling him to treat a wide range of complaints from cradle to old age. He engages with the patient in a way to suit their individual needs, whether it be a more involved emotionally based situation or a comparatively simple physical complaint.
If necessary, herbs can also be added to the treatment plan and these are usually taken in the form of granules or capsules.
